Antique brass bound mahogany cased deck clock with alarm James Muirhead & Sons, Glasgow. Circa 1860 The fine mahogany brass bound case with mother of pearl round plaque inlaid to the top, opening in 2 sections, the same way a chronometer box does. The lower lockable section with blue velvet interior holding the clock and the upper lid opening to show the clock in a mahogany surround. Overall box dimensions 4 1/8 inches / 10.5cm square 2 3/8 inches / 6cm high The circular four-pillar spring barrel 30 hour movement with lever escapement The 2 inch / 6.5cm silvered Roman numeral dial with alarm setting indication engraved on the flush rotating disc centre, with blued steel spade hands, the plain cylindrical case with canted bezel and bevelled glass. 7.5cm / 3 inches diameter. Complete with box key.
